St. James' - Hammondsport
St James Vision Statement: God asks us to make His love visible in our lives and community. . . . let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth. (1 John 3:18)
St James’ is a very active church full of creative and dedicated people. Organized in 1829, the congregation has improved their worship space eight times, including adding an elevator and repairing the Nave and undercroft.
Father Craig Hacker, and his wife Linda, came to us as a new full time Rector on March 26, 2023. Bishop Steve Lane visited on April 23. We had a Community Reception to celebrate on June 11.
The parish is very involved in the community with activities which include manning the little league concussion stand, the Hammondsport yard sale, vacation bible school with the United Methodist Church, Loaves and Fishes food pantry, and the Elizabeth Rose Ministry which provides items for women survivors of domestic violence.
