Zion, Palmyra
2023 is a year of celebration for Zion Episcopal Church, Palmyra. One of the unique “four corner” churches, we are marking our 200th year of love and service in Palmyra and the surrounding area! In addition, our award-winning church building is 150 years old this year.
Zion is proud, not only of our past, but also of our dedication to service and mission today. Community dinners are prepared and served, free of charge, on the last Sunday of the month to any and all. The former rectory has been converted into Grace House, a community mission where any Wayne county resident can come if they are in need of help. Clothing, household goods , linens, shoes, and other items are offered free of charge. Guests can also access the Food Pantry, which is housed in Zion’s Parish Center. Referrals to other services and aid are made available too. In addition to the Food Pantry, the Parish Center is the home to the Palmyra Head Start program and is a meeting place for various community groups such as Rotary, Phoenix Women, and Girl Scouts. A high percentage of Zion’s parishioners volunteer and actively work at Community Dinners, Grace House, the Food Pantry, and other volunteer opportunities such as Rotary, Family Promise, Girl Scouts and more. Zion also offers a beautiful labyrinth for all to use and enjoy.
Zion is a community of deep faith, a palpable love of fellowship, and a passion for service. Zion—-rooted in the past, actively serving in the present, and looking to the future.
